Jacques Lamarre's Play 'Born Fat' about Elizabeth Petruccione Gets a Run at Seven Angels

Seven Angels Theatre will present local playwright Jacques Lamarre's hit show Born Fat, from the Philadelphia Fringe Arts Festival about Waterbury’s own Elizabeth Petruccione.

April Woodall stars as Elizabeth Petruccione. Steve Ginsburg directs.

The play explores Elizabeth’s compulsive eating habits as a child.

“I used to hide food like it was Anne Frank and her family,” she says.

Despite weight loss fads that promise miracle results, she just can't seem to escape the legacy of words uttered by her mother: “Elizabeth Anne, you were born fat!"

Petruccione, the irrepressible founder of "Losing Weight With Elizabeth," shares how she ditched the husky section for health and happiness. Joy can be found at any size.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm with matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm. Tickets are $38.50: 203-757-4676; sevenangelstheatre.org,
