The Hartford Symphony Orchestra presents Jazz and Strings: A Tribte to John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman Friday, March 11 at 8 pm at Theater for the Performing Arts at the Learning Corridor (359 Washington St., Hartford).The program features Wayne Escoffery, left, alto saxophone; Giacomo Gates, vocals Gene Bozzi, artistic director & drums; Rick Rozie, bass; and Walter Gwardyak, music arranger.
Program: “You Are Too Beautiful,” “Lush Life,” “Autumn Serenade,” “My One And Only Love,” and additional tracks made famous by Coltrane including “My Favorite Things” and “Giant Steps”
